A Biblical Church Is A Baptist Assembly

by Dr. Gail Terrell

Biblical churches are local assemblies that are Baptistic in teaching and baptism. Each Baptist church is commissioned by Jesus with a mission to evangelize and establish other Baptist churches of like order and faith.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Je ru sa lem, and in all Judaea, and in Sa maria, and unto the ut ter- most part of the earth.

Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and be holding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

Each Baptist church is a complete autonomous, indigenous body of Christ with Jesus as her head.

Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things un der his [Jesus’] feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first born from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre eminence.

Each Baptist church is the house of God. A Baptist church is the pillar and ground for preservation of the Bible, God’s Truth.

1 Timothy 3:15 …that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to be have thy self in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground
of the truth.
